Description
Panchassee Hill stands as the culmination of an ancient pilgrimage trail, ascending from the shores of Fewa Lake to an elevation of approximately 2,500m. This vantage point offers spectacular views of the Annapurna mountain range, with trekking trails leading in various directions towards the five peaks of this sacred mountain. Cloaked in a dense forest, Panchase adorns itself with a rich tapestry of vibrant vegetation, including tree orchids, blooming rhododendrons, and colorful flowers.
Exploring the trails around Panchase brings the delightful opportunity to discover a small lake nestled like a precious jewel beneath the western summit. Symbolizing the “waters of our being,” this lake holds significance as the embodiment of the mountain’s maternal energy. Ascending natural stone steps, surrounded by grassy meadows, leads to a captivating array of yoga symbols, for which this mountain is renowned. While trekking in the Panchassee region provides unparalleled natural beauty at every turn, it demands a readiness for a challenging ascent.
Panchassee mountain is home to numerous “seats” of yoga practice, including ancient ruins and a cave located just above the village lodges, an hour below the peaks. Many wise men, known as sadhus, have meditated inside this cave, contemplating the vastness of nature—a symbolism deeply rooted in Vedic culture, representing divine female energy or Shakti. A journey to this mountain transports one to an era when womanhood embodied love, strength, and force.
A unique feature awaiting exploration is a rock bearing a mysterious sunray-like pattern, believed to have manifested after Siddha Baba meditated there during sunrise. Legend has it that as the sun’s rays illuminated Siddha Baba’s Third Eye, the enigmatic pattern was imprinted on the rock behind his head, visible to this day.
Plan your unique adventure, combining natural beauty, cultural heritage, and spiritual insights. Join us in experiencing the enchantment of Panchase – a journey to rediscover the age when womanhood embodied love, strength, and force. Book your trek today and witness the magic unfold at every step.
