Frequently Asked Questions
Annapurna Base Camp lies at an altitude of 4,130 meters above sea level.
You can complete Annapurna Circuit trek in 10 days or even shorter. The Annapurna Circuit Trek 10-Days allows you to explore the fantastic circuit in such a shorter duration. Trekkers with time constraints may give it a go.
The ideal Annapurna Circuit trekking experience typically lasts 14 to 21 days. While it’s not recommended, it is possible to complete the trek in 7 days. However, undertaking this shorter time frame increases the risk of altitude sickness due to rapid ascents to higher elevations and requires driving up to Manang instead of hiking, which would be the case with a more leisurely schedule.
The Annapurna Base Camp Trek doesn’t necessarily involve technical climbing. It’s accessible to anyone who can walk for approximately 6 hours a day. However, trekking at higher elevations can be physically challenging. Therefore, it’s recommended to engage in physical activities like jogging or aerobic exercises in the weeks leading up to your journey to prepare your body for the demands of the trek.
The Annapurna Base Camp trek presents itself as a relatively more manageable undertaking compared to the Everest Base Camp trek. This is primarily attributed to several factors. Firstly, the trekking days are shorter, allowing for a less strenuous pace throughout the journey. Secondly, the maximum elevation reached during the ABC trek is 4,130m/13,550 feet, significantly lower than the heights encountered on the EBC route. Moreover, the duration spent at higher elevations is minimized, reducing the risk of altitude-related complications. Additionally, the presence of lush green forests in the lower altitudes contributes to higher oxygen levels.

The optimal periods for the Annapurna Base Camp trek are typically during the pre-monsoon months spanning from March to May, as well as the post-monsoon months from late September to December. While February and early September also offer trekking opportunities, they may present slightly less favorable conditions. However, for the most enjoyable and comfortable experience, it is recommended to plan your trek during the peak seasons mentioned earlier.
