Description
Embark on a transformative adventure through the remote and less-traveled terrains of the Himalayas with our 15 Days Manaslu Circuit Trek. This immersive experience promises a harmonious blend of breathtaking landscapes, Tibetan culture, and the awe-inspiring grandeur of Mt. Manaslu (8163m), the world’s 8th highest peak.
Since its inauguration in 1992, the Manaslu Circuit Trek has evolved into one of the most sought-after Himalayan treks, bordering Tibet yet visited by only 2% of trekkers. The isolation of this region, coupled with its strong Tibetan influence, offers a spiritual retreat into a serene ambiance enriched with Tibetan Buddhism.
Enveloped by lush rhododendron, cedar, birch, and juniper forests, the trail leads through a variety of terrains, each leaving an indelible mark on your senses. The circumnavigation of the towering Manaslu exposes you to deep gorges, raging torrents, and majestic massifs that include the Annapurnas in the west and Ganesh Himal in the east.
While physically demanding, the trek ensures proper safeguards, including acclimatization, to make the journey immensely rewarding. Following the Budhi Gandaki River valley, the trail meanders through cascading waterfalls, fertile farmlands etched into hillsides, and offers glimpses of the resilient communities adapted to this rugged terrain.
Commencing with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Soti Khola via Arughat, the trek unfolds its wonders. Highlights include Machha Khola, Deng, Namrung Village with panoramic views, and the acclimatization stop at Samagaun. The journey continues to Samdo and Dharamsala, revealing the majestic Larkya Glacier and Larkya Peak (6249m).
A pivotal moment arrives with the challenging traverse of the Larkya La Pass (5106m), leading to Bhimthang and Gho. The final leg retraces the steps through Dharapani, reconnecting with the Annapurna Circuit Trek trail back to Besisahar and ultimately Kathmandu.
Beyond its physical challenges, the Manaslu Circuit Trek provides profound insights into the coexistence of Buddhism and Hinduism in these remote regions, where harsh climates shape cultural narratives. For those seeking alternatives, our offerings include the 12 Days Manaslu Circuit Trek, 23 Days Tsum Valley and Manaslu Circuit Trek, or the 16 Days Tsum Valley Trek.
