Description
The Langtang Valley trek offers a captivating experience with sublime mountain views, diverse flora and fauna, and serene landscapes. Boasting over 1,000 plant species, 150 bird varieties, and various mammals, this trek caters to both seasoned and novice trekkers, providing a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
Located north of Kathmandu, Langtang Valley is part of the first Himalayan national park, covering 1,710 sq. km. The lightly inhabited area ensures a peaceful journey through nature and traditional settlements. Legend has it that the valley was discovered while searching for a lost yak, aptly named Langtang, where “Lang” means yak and “tang” means follow in Tibetan.
With picturesque landscapes, a moderate climate, easy trails, and traditional lifestyles, Langtang Valley stands out as a gem in Nepal’s Himalayas. The trek offers stunning views of peaks exceeding 7,000m, including Langtang Lirung (7,200m) and Ganesh Himal (7,600m), as well as the snow-capped Tserko Ri (5033m), Kyanjin RI, Ganchhenpo (6388m), Dorje Lakpa (6990m), and Laure Binayak pass (4,609m).
The Langtang Valley trek encompasses natural and cultural wonders, from rhododendron, bamboo, and pine forests to swift mountain streams, rugged rocks, and snow-capped peaks. The journey also includes encounters with wild primulas, majestic waterfalls, and soothing hot springs.

Trip Itinerary
Commence the journey early, driving along the scenic Trishuli River for 7-8 hours. Check into the hotel upon reaching Syabrubesi at 1460m and spend the night.
Begin to a trek after breakfast, ascending for 2 hours and enjoying lunch in a bamboo village. Walk through leveled trails, witnessing bird species and beehives, and ascend to Lama Hotel for an overnight stay.
A pleasant 3-hour walk through rhododendron and pine forests leads to Ghoda Tabela. After lunch, enjoy the dense forests and herbs, concluding with a 3-4 hour walk to Langtang valley for the night.
A leisurely 2-3 hour walk to Kyangjin Gompa at 3817m offers scenic views of Mt. Ganchhenpo and Mt. Langtang Lirung. Explore the cheese factory, monasteries, and traditional houses for an immersive experience.
Dedicate the day to the natural beauty and serenity of Kyanjin Gompa, enjoying splendid mountain views and potentially climbing to Tsergo Ri at 5150m. Return to Kyanjin Gompa for the night.
Trek back to Rimche from Kyanjin Gompa through the scenic trail, enjoying the descent on the second last day of the Langtang trek.
Trek back through bamboo and rhododendron forests to reach Syabrubesi, a 4-5 hour walk. Enjoy the night at a local lodge in Sybrubesi, sharing the last dinner with the guide and porter.
Start the day early, returning to Kathmandu after breakfast. Spend the evening exploring the capital city’s tourist spots or shopping for souvenirs in Thamel.
